I have worked for Hull City Council as a Sports Development and Community Participation officer for over 10 years.  My last job included organising events and activities for young people, community engagement, risk assessment, health and safety, grant applications, evaluation and output monitoring.   I have qualifications in First Aid, Teacher Training, Fitness, yoga, healthy eating, and various Hull City Council training courses.

Throughout my childhood, I spent a lot of time campaigning for animal rights, and continue to do so.   I have always loved animals and wanted to be a vegetarian when I was 10 years old but my mother wouldn’t let me!   She gave in when I was 14, I am now 49 (still 18 in my head!) and have been a vegan for the last 7 years.

I live with my husband, Peter and my 14 year old Cairn Terrier Skipper, whom I take in East Park every day.  I resigned from Hull City Council in April 2010 to concentrate on Pet Respect, my charity that promotes responsible pet ownership to schoolchildren.  I am hoping to teach more yoga classes (to pay the bills!)

If I had one wish it would be to end all cruelty in the world (animals and humans)
